Job Vacancy

Position:     Teaching Assistant – Maternity Cover

Start Date:   January 2019

Finish Date:  this vacancy is provisionally for two terms

Hours:            25 hours per week

Scale:            2

Closing date:  12pm on Monday 5 November 2018

Interviews:      Thursday 8 November 2018

The suitable candidate will be working mainly with Year 1 children as a class TA, personal mentor, one-to-one and small group tutor and liaising with families as appropriate.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, efficient and highly motivated practitioner to join our team in delivering a high quality education to all Wilden children.

The successful candidate will need to have very high expectations of themselves and the children.  They will need the ability to use their own initiative and to be adaptable. We expect the successful applicant to support the class teacher in the planning and delivery of a broad balanced curriculum by assisting Wilden children and their families to develop key life-long learning skills and to keep accurate records of their progress.

The successful candidate should have:  A real passion for working with children; excellent spoken and written english; maths and ICT skills relevant to the post; preferably good knowledge of and/or experience of the National Curriculum requirements as well as an understanding of how important the development of early reading skills are. An in depth understanding of phonics and how to teach this is crucial.

Visits to the school are encouraged.
