Wolverley Sebright Primary Academy Wolverley Sebright Primary Academy is a smaller than average sized school based in the village of Wolverley. We completed the conversion to academy status on 1st August 2018 joining the Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET). A decision to convert was made to secure greater scrutiny and accountability, access positive working relationships within the trust and due to the capacity in school provide support, brokered by the trust, to other schools. Being part of a cross phase sponsoring Multi Academy Trust currently with two high schools and five primary schools enables the school to grow and secure excellent school to school support. Working alongside colleagues from SCITT will also ensure future professional development of all staff.
The appointment of the current headteacher in September 2012, has with all stakeholders driven standards, expectations and outcomes at the end of Key Stage 2 above the national average for the past five years with progress in reading and maths well above the national average. The most recent Ofsted inspection in 2013 judged the school as Good (2) with the dynamic leadership qualities highlighted as a strength of the school (Ofsted 2013). Due to the positive culture, climate and opportunities for staff to enhance their practice the school now includes a Specialist Leader in Education for English.
Consistency and stability in the teaching team has meant the school has developed an enriched curriculum with excellent provision in Sports and RE recognised with external awards this year.
